Rice Exports Rise by 10.67%

Cambodia exported 509,249 tonnes of rice in the first 10 months of 2022, up 10.67 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, between January and October, rice exports totaled 509,249 tonnes, an increase of 49,080 tonnes (10,67 percent) of the 460,168 tonnes exported during the same period in 2021.

It said that 348,501 tonnes of fragrant rice was exported, 148,933 tonnes of white rice, and 11,815 tonnes of parboiled rice.

Additionally, 165,630 tonnes of rice were exported to the European Union, which consists of 23 nations, 231,873 tonnes were exported to China, 48,253 tonnes were exported to ASEAN, which consists of four nations, and 63,493 tonnes were exported to 26 other countries.

Meanwhile, Cambodia exported 2,440,112 tonnes of rice grain to Vietnam, down 219,878 tonnes (8.27 percent) from the same period in 2021.

Currently, there are 55 companies that export rice, of which 10 exported 34,949 tonnes and 45 firms exported 165,300 tonnes.

Cambodia exported 7.62 million tonnes of agricultural goods in the first 10 months of 2022, earning $3.07 billion, according to a report issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries on November 19.
