Publicly released financial reports by listed companies are key for investors to make decisions for buying securities, according to a seasoned Cambodian banker.

ACLEDA Bank President and Group Managing Director, In Channy, made the comments at a recent ceremony to launch training for improved awareness on investment in the securities sector.

“Publicly released reports by listed companies are important and are one of the elements upon which investors base when deciding on investment in the securities sector,” Channy said.

“At the same time, these reports should be carefully and thoroughly analyzed for each investor to be better confident in making investment.”

The training was co-organized on August 16 by the Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia (SERC) for the staff and management of ACLEDA Bank.

Channy said the training is important to enable participants to understand more about investment in the securities sector. This includes the benefits of the securities market, building foundations as investors, and analysis of listed companies for making investment decisions, especially ACLEDA Bank’s securities.

According to ACLEDA, as of June, the bank has $8.34 billion in assets, $6 billion in credit balance and $6.01 billion in savings deposit, with more than 3.59 million customers.
