PATHMAZING Inc, a Cambodian company-led consortium, has been given full rights to provide Games Management system "GMS" and act as a one window service to raise funds for the Southeast East Asian Games 2023, which Cambodia is gearing up to host for the first time.
According to an award letter from the Organizing Committee (CAMSOC) for SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games 2023, which was obtained by Kiripost, PATHMAZING will also act as a one window service for ASEAN Para Games 2023.
In addition, PATHMAZING will raise funds and manage functions, such as preparing games management systems, designing a mechanism to mobilize sponsorships from the private sector, developing marketing and promotion strategies, managing licenses, and selling licensing and merchandising.
Other tasks include overseeing the ticketing management system and creating programs for the public to contribute to funding and donating money to support the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games 2023 through crowdfunding and donations, the award letter said.

Kiripost, a media outlet that writes about business and technology in Cambodia, is a subsidiary of PATHMAZING. SEA Games will be held from 5 to 16 May 2023 and Para Games 2023 will be held from June 3 to June 9, 2023, in Phnom Penh.
National Olympic Committee of Cambodia’s (NOCC) Secretary General Vath Chamroeun said Cambodia has waited 64 years to host the SEA Games and is now able to due to political and economic stability.
He said hosting the games is a historical honor for the country and the nation is fully committed to host the mega games well with respect to Olympic standards.
“This is pride for our nation, it is not just building a strong sport foundation but will make Cambodia well-known around the world for its potentials in politics, economics, culture and tourism,” Chamroeun said.
The event will throw the spotlight on Cambodia, with countries worldwide focusing on the nation. The sports events will also help to change the mindset of Cambodians and encourage them to love sports, get fit and reduce public health care spending.
Chamroeun added that he believes the games will also encourage the population to be better citizens and more friendly in a modern civilized society. He added that contribution from PATHMAZING in marketing and promotion, as well as its digital expertise, will help improve the quality of the games.
“This will improve the quality of games and competitions even more, so it will make the events more highly valued in hosting the games. This generation is digital and is moving forward fast,” Chamroeun said.
He added that PATHMAZING, as a leading digital company, will be successful in promoting the SEA Games and its values.
“This is something we must work on together for the nation. No one can say one is the host of the games, everyone is the host of the games,” he said.
Chamroeun said the games will be mega as the region has a population of 600 million. The games will consist of 38 different sports with 7,000 athletes taking part in 608 events.
There will be an estimated 10,000 officials and guests attending the games, in addition to an estimated 200,000 to half a million tourists expected to visit the country next year, which will also be Visit Cambodia 2023, he said.
“This is our first time and we are proud to host the largest sporting events, the biggest one than previous games,” he said.
Steven Path, CEO and Founder of PATHMAZING, and his executives presented the game plan of the SEA Games 2023 on Monday to Thong Khon, Tourism Minister and NOCC's President and Chamroeun.
“On the consortium we fly in experts with experience from past SEA Games to guide and transfer their knowledge to local Cambodians,” said Path, an entrepreneur who started his first startup at the tender age of 14 in the United States.
“After the Cambodia 2023 Games we will also prepare for the Asia Youth Games in 2029 where 50 countries will be competing,” he added.
Path, who also holds an American citizenship, said that in the initial phase of the integrated offline and online marketing strategy, PATHMAZING will focus on Team Cambodia to encourage Cambodians from around the world to donate to the campaigns via KhmerCare, Cambodia's first crowdfunding platform.
“Donations will help fund the continuous development of athletes' performance through advanced sports equipment, clothing and sports technology. This new level playing field will hopefully bring more glory to the Kingdom,” Path said.
According to the presentation slides to CAMSOC on Monday and seen by Kiripost, PATHMAZING will target $5 million sponsorship cash and another $1 million target cash from donation and crowdfunding.
Path said, “I'm extremely grateful to the government and CAMSOC for entrusting a local company to lead a consortium of local and regional companies to deliver an integrated marketing and commercial program. The integrated delivery through technology and affinity towards Team Cambodia will enable Cambodia as the first-time host to deliver the Best In Class Fan Experience, while at the same time ensuring a transfer of knowledge from its experienced partners.”
He added, “Since moving back to Cambodia 13 years ago to start PATHMAZING, I never once imagined that I would be part of history. Now that it’s finally here, we wish to see all Cambodians be a part of this by contributing to Team Cambodia and Cambodia 2023.
“I share the vision of CAMSOC that this game belongs to every Cambodian living in Cambodia and abroad. Our Kingdom has really come a long way, and we intend to showcase the rapid social economic developments in the country and warm hospitality to the world.”
With sponsorships, PATHMAZING said it will maximize the amount of funds generated from sponsors, donations and crowdfunding for CAMSOC and ensure that all revenue generated strategically supports operations and optimized efficiency.
With donations and crowdfunding, PATHMAZING said it will also build legacy and sense of pride with Cambodians towards Team Cambodia and inspire the next generation of champions through contributions.
As part of the partners, PATHMAZING will also work with Sportswork, a sports advisory company, and Foodpanda, an online food and grocery delivery platform, along with a regional marketing agency in Malaysia, UnRavel.
