Following the completion of the national exams, students must now select a university to pursue their bachelor's degree. There are 12 universities in Cambodia that they can consider.
Royal University of Phnom Penh
Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) has been known as the oldest and largest university in Cambodia. It was established in 1960 as a non-profit public higher education institution. Moreover, it provides courses and programs leading to officially recognised higher education degrees, such as bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, and doctoral degrees in a variety of fields of study.
RUPP is organised into three faculties: science, social science and humanities, and foreign languages (IFL). There are several popular majors available, including English literature, Khmer literature, International Studies, History, Psychology, Tourism, Media and Communication, and many more.

Under RUPP, the Department of Media and Communication (DMC) is partly funded by Germany and is the only state higher education in the country that offers bachelor degrees in journalism since 2001.
At IFL, the faculty offers bachelor degrees and short courses in foreign languages in Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean and Thai. It also offers Khmer language courses in which some foreign students, including Chinese nationals, study.
RUPP has a large library, some green space and a vast pond for people to leisurely sit around. The university also has a basketball and football pitch for people to play.

Institute of Technology of Cambodia
The Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) was founded in 1964 as a non-public higher-education institution. It provides courses and programs that lead to officially recognised higher education degrees, such as bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees in a variety of fields of study. Moreover, it has a selective admission criteria based on entrance exams and students' previous academic records and ratings.
ITC is divided into faculties: electrical engineering, civil engineering, hydrology and water resources engineering, geo-resources and geotechnical engineering, chemical and food engineering, applied sciences, and many more.
ITC is known as one of the toughest universities in the country to get into, it also is known as one of the two best state institutions besides University of Health Science.
Po Kimtho, ITC’s Director General, said that one of the school’s missions is to nurture innovative skills towards technology transfer to the community and entrepreneurship. In addition, students are provided with a strong scientific base and technical know‐how and skills that allow their integration and evolution.
ITC plans to expand its engineering education as the economy grows and develop research platforms in order to sustain this.
ITC used to have a football pitch in front of the school, which has been transformed into a parking lot.
University of Health Science
The University of Health Science was founded in 1946 as a non-profit public higher-education institution in Cambodia. It offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees, such as bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, and doctorate degrees in a variety of fields of study. Additionally, it has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students past academic records and grades.
Currently, it has three faculties: Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Technical School of Nursing, and Public Health.
National University of Management
The National University of Management is a well-known public higher education school in Cambodia. It was founded in 1983 as an institute of economics. Like other institutions, it offers bachelor, master and doctorate degrees in a range of fields of study.
Students can pursue degrees in Management, Economics, Business, Information Technology, Business Law, Finance and Accounting, Tourism, and Foreign Languages.

Pannasastra University of Cambodia
Pannasastra University of Cambodia (PUC) was established in 2000 as a non-profit private higher-education institution in Phnom Penh. It provides courses and programs that lead to officially recognised higher education degrees, such as pre-bachelor, bachelor, master, and doctoral degrees in a variety of fields of study.
PUC is divided into the faculties of Arts, Letters, and Humanities, Business and Economics, Law and Public Affairs, Mathematics, Sciences, and Engineering, Social Sciences and International Relations, Management and Economics, Communication and Media Arts, and Architecture and Design.

University of Cambodia
The University of Cambodia (UC) was founded in 2003 as a non-profit private higher-education institution in Phnom Penh. It provides courses and programs that lead to officially recognised higher education degrees, such as pre-bachelor, bachelor, master, and doctoral degrees in a variety of fields of study.
UC is organised into colleges, including Art and Humanities, Education, Law, Media and Communication, Science and Technology, Social Science, Foreign Language, Creative Arts, and many more.
National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia
The National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia was founded in 2005 as a non-profit public higher education institution in Cambodia. It offers courses and programs leading to officially recognised higher education degrees, such as bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, and doctoral degrees in a variety of subjects.
Students can pursue degrees in Computer Science, Civil and Architecture, Electricity Engineering, Electronics and Communication, General Mechanics, Automotive Mechanics, and Tourism and Hospitality.
Paragon International University
Paragon International University was established in 2010 as a non-profit private, higher-education institution in Phnom Penh. It provides courses and programs that lead to officially recognised higher education degrees, such as bachelor degrees in a variety of subjects.
There are several majors, including Banking and Finance, Business Administration, International Trade and Logistics, International Relations, Architectural Engineering, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, and Information System Management.
American University of Phnom Penh
The American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP) was founded in 2013 as a Cambodian university with an American curriculum. It provides courses and programs that lead to officially recognised higher education degrees, such as bachelor's and master's degrees in a variety of fields of study.
AUPP also signed dual degree agreements with the University of Arizona and Fort Hays State University. The University of Arizona offers dual degrees in Business Administration and Law, whereas Fort Hays State offers dual degrees in Tourism and Hospitality Management, and Computer Science.
Students can pursue degrees in Business, Global Affairs, Information Technology Management, Information and Communication Management, and Law.
Norton University
Norton University was founded in 1997 as a private higher-education institution in Phnom Penh. It provides courses and programs that lead to officially recognised higher education degrees in a variety of fields of study.

Norton University is divided into three colleges: science colleges, social science colleges, and art, humanities, and language colleges. Architecture, Computer Studies, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronic, Business, Economic Law and Government, and many other majors are available.
Limkokwing University of Creative Technology
Limkokwing University of Creative Technology was established in 2008 as a private higher-education institution in Phnom Penh. It offers courses and programs leading to officially recognised higher education degrees, such as pre-bachelor degrees, bachelor degrees, master degrees in several areas of study.

Students can earn degrees in Fashion and Lifestyle Creativity, Architecture and the Built Environment, Business Management and Globalization, Communication, Media and Broadcasting, Design Innovation, and a variety of other fields.
CamEd Business School

CamEd Business School was founded in 2003 as a private higher-education institution located in Phnom Penh. It provides courses and programs that lead to officially recognised higher education degrees, such as bachelor's degrees in accounting and finance.
