Leading life insurance company AIA Cambodia on Wednesday signed an official sponsorship deal with SEA Games Organizing Committee (CAMSOC) for the upcoming Southeast Asian Games 2023 and ASEAN Para Games 2023.
The 32nd SEA Games will be held from May 5 to 17, while the 12th ASEAN Para Games will take place from June 3 to 9, with AIA Cambodia becoming the games’ first partner for life and health insurance.
In a signing ceremony at the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), officials said AIA Cambodia will join CAMSOC as part of the journey in assisting the Cambodian national team to reach the highest level.
CAMSOC’s Secretary General Vath Chamroeun said that there are just 129 days until the start of the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games 2023 and thanked PATHMAZING for its marketing efforts to attract sponsorships for the games.
PATHMAZING Inc, a Cambodian company-led consortium, has been given full rights to provide Games Management system "GMS" and act as a one window service to raise funds for the 2023 games, which Cambodia is hosting for the first time.
Steven Path, CEO and Founder of PATHMAZING, was also present at the signing ceremony. Kiripost is a subsidiary of PATHMAZING.
Chamroeun said that Cambodia has been waiting to host the games for 64 years and the country has qualified sports trainers and athletes to take part in the competitions.
“We are thankful for AIA's first-coming sponsorship for the help. Providing insurance to athletes strongly motivates mental health to more sacrifice for champions,” Chamroeun said.
Andrew Loh, CEO of AIA Cambodia, said that collaboration goes beyond aiding in the promotion of AIA Cambodia's reputation. It represents a chance to show full support of the Cambodian national team and the hosts.
“We will take advantage of this chance to strengthen our commitment to the long-term growth and advancement of our society and economy. It is also a welcome opportunity to introduce the globe to Cambodia's warm, traditional and kind hospitality,” Loh said.

The objective of AIA’s support for Cambodia 2023 is to assist Cambodians in leading healthier and better lives, Loh said. He added that it backs AIA Group's AIA One Billion Initiative, which aims to improve the health and quality of life for one billion Asians by 2030.
Since sports are essential to reach optimal well-being, AIA Cambodia is sponsoring the tournament and has planned a number of events that will help the community and give them access to information and knowledge for daily living, he said.
Loh added that AIA Cambodia will have the chance to educate more Cambodians about the advantages of athletics and assist them in maintaining their physical and mental health.
Loh said that AIA Cambodia will also give the Cambodian national team peace of mind regarding financial security, including health insurance and life insurance, as a result of its status as an official partner. This will make it possible for athletes to fully concentrate on their training in preparation of the games.
AIA Cambodia will also support CAMSOC financially and in other ways to help them with their public fundraising initiatives to promote the Cambodian national team, which is on the path to sporting achievement, Loh said.
AIA has also helped to promote Cambodia hosting the games both nationally and internationally, he said, adding that sports have the power to forge stronger links between people and the nation, promote world peace and international cooperation, and spur socio-economic growth.
“We hope that the sports and abilities, strength, and vitality demonstrated by the participants will motivate more Cambodians to take better care of their health. This will help us to achieve our goal of helping Cambodians stay healthy and live better,” Loh said.
