The US Embassy is gearing up to kick-start its annual US Embassy Week, starting in Banteay Menachey province before heading to Siem Reap.
According to a social media post from US Ambassador, W Patrick Murphy, this year’s US Embassy Week will cover Cambodia’s northwest.
“First stop: Banteay Meanchey Province, a trade & tourism crossroads with neighbouring Thailand. The “Victorious Fortress” is part of the Tonlé Sap biosphere and an agricultural breadbasket,” his post on X, previously Twitter, said.
The delegation will then move onto Siem Reap from September 20 to 22, where American diplomats and staff will be joined by a collection of media, including Kiripost. They will visit a series of organisations to learn about their work and the US’s engagement.
This includes trips to the Digital Workforce Development Career Centre, headed by USAID, ACCESS School Journeys Within Our Community, and an event that will see the Ambassador deliver a talk about empowering women and youth through sports.
US Embassy Week aims to celebrate the ties between the US and Cambodia, while showcasing some of the work the US has implemented in the nation.
