The Technovation Cambodia 2023 season has drawn to an end and announced the four driven teams of young females who won awards during the National Pitch Event on June 26 at Camboia Academy of Digital and Technology (CADT).
The Technovation National Pitch Event attracted more than 500 participants both physically and virtually, including senior government officials and private sectors, such as the MInistry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), Ministry of Education Youth and Sport, Smart Axiata, and Manulife.
The 12-week educational training competition program for 2023 focussed on developing mobile app solutions at the fundamental level, aiming to address social problems related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This year’s event has been hailed as special as it is the first to be held since the Covid-19 pandemic. It not only saw the Technovation Girl Cambodia 2023 season resume the physical training activities, but also introduced four new activities.
This aimed to boost basic knowledge around technology and entrepreneurship and provide hands-on experiences to all of the participants.
The new activities included Kid-Hack Day to introduce students to Technovation 2023 and raise awareness of the program and where students can form a team and learn how to identify the problems and solutions.

This year’s program also included 12 weeks of training. The training focused on four essential elements: problem-solving skills, solution identification, mobile app development, and pitching skills. Soft skills were also developed through teamwork, communications, and research.
A Bootcamp was also held to prepare the 12 finalist teams for the national pitch by staying together, getting to know each other, a study tour and preparing for pitching.
The final new activity was the National Pitch, a celebration competition for females across Cambodia to showcase their innovative solutions to the general public.
A total of 28 teams of Cambodian girls aged eight to 18 participated in the competition with the goal of building a better future using technology. A total of 19 teams submitted their projects to the Global Competition. Two teams were selected to compete in the semi-finals on the global stage.
This year, Technovation 2023 was co-organized by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunication, Ministry of Education Youth and Sport, Tech for Kids Academy and 606 Digital. It was sponsored by CBRD Fund and Smart Axiata, with the venue sponsored by American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP) and CADT.
‘’Among all of the teams participating, only the most outstanding 12 teams are shortlisted and presented at the National Pitch Event of Technovation Cambodia 2023,” said a press release from the organizers.
