Guinness World Record holder and acclaimed Spanish musician Rafael Serrallet is gearing up to host a master class and recital in Phnom Penh.

Spanish-born Rafael is one of the biggest names in Spanish music, with a career that spans more than 30 years and more than 1,000 concerts across 100 countries under his belt.

In 2018, he claimed the title of Guinness World Record for being the first classical musician to perform in all seven continents – including Antarctica.

Rafael is now preparing to perform at the Royal University of Fine Arts (RUFA) as his final concert of 2022. The master class and recital are sponsored by the Spanish Ministry of Culture.

The musical programme will include pieces by Spanish composers, such as Albéniz, Tárrega and Magín. He will also play with the RUFA chamber music players, highlighting the work of Spanish female guitarist and composer Josefina Robledo and a piece composed by Serrallet that is dedicated to RUFA.

Rafael Serrallet is not only a guitarist, he is a comprehensive musician who wants to share his passion for music across the world. He has developed music pedagogical projects in Morocco, the Middle East, Sudan, the DR Congo, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Senegal, the Philippines and Myanmar.

Hi mission is to expel the myth that classical music can sometimes be elitist and excluding. Instead, he likes to approach it as a tool for social integration.

He will perform at RUFA on December 29 at 5.30pm.
