Smart Axiata has received the Gold Award for Tax Compliance from the General Department of Taxation (GDT) after being named as the Kingdom’s fifth-largest tax contributor in 2022, highlighting its excellent governance practices and strong collaboration with the Government.
It is the third time that the company has received the award for meeting its tax obligations under Cambodian law. Smart was the first mobile operator to receive the award in 2018 and again in 2020.
The Gold Award for Tax Compliance is presented to companies that meet their tax obligations and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and ethical standards in their business operations. Among the 200 companies selected by GDT for the award, Smart ranked in the top five contributors in 2022 and was specially recognized by Prime Minister Hun Sen.
