The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications has signed a cooperation agreement with Viettel Cambodia Company (Metfone) to develop Cambodia's telecommunications industry and data center services.
Tuesday’s signing ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Hun Sen and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, together with a high-ranking delegation of Cambodian and Vietnamese officials, the chairman of Viettel Group and Metfone’s board of directors.
According to the signed document, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, with a team of experienced experts, and Metfone, with its technology, financial and human resources, will cooperate to advance Cambodia's telecommunications industry, the development of data centers, and promote other digital activities.
According to a press release, the enhanced cooperation between the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications and Metfone not only contributes to promoting efficient and quality network infrastructure connectivity, but helps services in the fields of post, telecommunications and information technology, communication throughout Cambodia.
In addition, the agreement contributes to Cambodia’s socio-economic development, promoting hunger eradication and poverty reduction, while fostering the relationship between the two countries. [Partnered Content]
