Metfone’s YouTube channel has hit one million subscribers, earning it the coveted Gold Play Button after nine years of airing content.
Metfone's YouTube channel is one of the channels of the non-entertainment brand to garner the largest number of followers in the country. This is an achievement Metfone, which is owned by Viettel Cambodia Company, said is due to the in-depth content it produces, which is especially suitable to the culture and lifestyle of Cambodians.
Metfone said the recognition is considered a special mark for the communication and promotion of its brand image. It added that the milestone pays testament to the channel’s popularity and the virality of the content that Metfone has produced.
One highlight is the famous animated video series ‘Path of Dharma’, a program with Buddhist content that helps spread positive messages and motivates people to do good deeds. Another popular series is ‘Kradas Sar’, a weekly educational program produced by Metfone that has a large viewership.
From services and digital content, in 2021 Metfone scooped the Gold Award for Best Education and Training Product of the Year from the Globee Awards for its ‘Path of Dharma’ series.
In 2022, Metfone also won the award for best corporate social responsibility program of the year for reality TV show, ‘It’s Not a Dream’, from the Globee Awards. The program finds relatives lost in the war.
According to the channel's analysis, so far, total views have reached 332.6 million, while total watch time hit 16.6 million hours.
Currently, Metfone has been producing more entertaining content on YouTube Shorts, a platform for short-form videos. This forms one of the strategies to diversify content and make the channel more attractive.
Besides entertainment, Metfone focuses on building, innovating, and developing its YouTube channel to serve society and the community, and tries to deliver content that showcases positive Cambodian culture, connects people, and brings positive values. [Partnered Content]
