The invitation came after Re-Made in Cambodia presented a remarkable fashion show at the Global Circular Fashion Forum's "Textile Waste Opportunities for Circular Textiles, Garments & Footwear in Cambodia" in Phnom Penh.
Born in France with Khmer-Chinese heritage, Doche has been a driving force in the Cambodian fashion industry. In 2020, she embarked on an inspiring new chapter by founding Revivre Studio, a brand dedicated to slow fashion and inspired by her cultural heritage.
Deeply committed to addressing environmental injustice within the fashion industry, Doche and her team of local talents joined forces with Re-Made in Cambodia for the 2023 Earth Day Fashion project.
She will be the first Cambodian to speak at the international summit on July 27 and 28. This significant milestone marks Doche's debut appearance at the summit, where she will represent Re-Made in Cambodia and share her insights about sustainable fashion on a global platform.
Re-Made in Cambodia's exceptional work was recognized when the organization was invited to nominate a designer to speak at the Global Fashion Summit, according to its press release.
This followed the impressive Earth Day 2023 event organized by Global Fashion Agenda, GIZ Cambodia, and EuroCham Cambodia, highlighting the significance and impact of Re-Made in Cambodia's efforts in promoting sustainable fashion practices.
On Earth Day 2023, Remade-Cambodia also shone the spotlight on Cambodian fashion in a sustainable way by raising awareness to the public. It highlighted the environmental issues the industry causes by featuring clothes designed from materials dumped in the capital’s waterways.
Doche's attendance at the Global Fashion Summit is made possible with the support of Global Fashion Agenda and GIZ Cambodia. This collaboration between Re-Made in Cambodia and these organizations further underscores their shared commitment to driving sustainability and empowering designers like Tifanny.
The Global Fashion Summit is renowned as the leading forum for sustainability in the fashion industry. Organized by Global Fashion Agenda, a non-profit organization committed to driving sustainability in fashion, the summit brings together global industry leaders, change-makers, and innovators to accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable fashion industry.
Re-Made in Cambodia said it is thrilled to have Doche represent their organization and the burgeoning Cambodian fashion industry at this prestigious event. Her presence at the Global Fashion Summit will showcase the rapid growth and creative prowess of Re-Made in Cambodia and cement the country's position as a global hub for sustainable fashion.
