The Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training has announced that private businesses and employers will allow their staff a paid three-day leave to return to their home provinces and vote in the upcoming National Election.
According to an announcement issued by the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training on June 2, the ministry encouraged workers to vote and all owners and directors of factories and other enterprises should give workers three days off from July 22 to 24, with wages and benefits kept the same.
The Ministry added that three key points must be implemented when workers return from the election. First, during the three days off, workers are not required to show any relevant documents upon return. Second, the employer must pay workers before July 22. If it is not possible to pay the wages on time, workers must borrow a part of their wages.
At the same time, the ministry strongly hopes that owners and directors of factories and enterprises as well as workers will respect and implement the guidelines.
