The Ministry of Tourism (MoT) has decided to shutter three tour operators in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap after they applied to close their businesses on Tuesday.

The three companies that were closed are All Care Travel and Tour Co.,Ltd, located in Phnom Penh, C.X Travel Service Co.,Ltd, located in Phnom Penh and Hanoori Tourism (Cambodia) Travel, located in Siem Reap.

The MoT added that the public will have one month to file complaints against these companies if they have any financial issues with them.

Tob Sopheak, MoT spokesperson, said, "Normally and in previous times, there were a few business companies that applied to close like the three above. This suggests that it is not unusual for businesses to close down in Cambodia,” he told Kiripost on Wednesday.

He said that some companies are facing financial issues and a loss of customers, even if they are local or international companies. “So, they applied to the Ministry to close because they couldn’t run their own business anymore,” Sopheak confirmed.

He added, “Closing these three doesn’t impact the tourism sector in Cambodia because now the flow of tourists is increasing steadily, even though some [businesses] have closed, but there are a lot of travel agencies and tour operators that are working to provide trust to customers.”

Representatives of All Care Travel and Tour Co.,Ltd, located in Phnom Penh, C.X Travel Service Co.Ltd were not available for comment on Wednesday.
