Rising Giants (RG) and Cambodia Investment Review (CIR) are hosting the inaugural Start-Up & Innovation Festival, featuring 25 of Cambodia’s leading creatives, start-up founders and investors for engaging private sector-led discussions on the Kingdom’s innovation landscape.
Max Thornton and Dom Kalousek, hosts of the Rising Giants podcast, said, “Our podcast has created one of Cambodia’s leading founder ecosystems, but it is time that we take on the real stage to further enable the ecosystem to come together.
“We are also especially excited to meet our listeners in person and hope to create stronger bonds.”
The event will feature debates exploring the key issues impacting venture capital in the region and the most important trends that impact Cambodian start-ups. Other topics up for discussion include Cambodia’s expanding creator economy, the best ways to raise start-up funding, and finding a place in the start-up space.
Confirmed speakers include Bora Kem of Mekong Strategic Capital, Langda Chea of BookMeBus, Vireak Chea of PillTech, Parth Borkotoky of Azaylla, and Lida Loem of SHE Investments.
In addition, there will be opportunities for networking, and all attendees will be in with a chance of winning a $500 prize giveaway from the event’s partners, Koompi, Quantum and TRIBE.
The event takes place on April 8, from noon to 8pm at FACTORY Phnom Penh. Tickets are on sale for $20 and $10 for students, from the LIVE app by Wonderpass, an e-ticketing solution by a Cambodian start-up.
Rising Giants launched in 2020 to fill the gap in gaining insights into the start-up and investment ecosystem in Southeast Asia. It serves as a platform for entrepreneurs and investors to share experiences.
