The General Department of Taxation (GDT) on Thursday reminded commercial gambling operations to voluntarily pay taxes in compliance with the law after noticing some who have failed to comply.
“In this regard, the GDT would like to remind you, Mr. and Mrs. directors of enterprises that fail to fulfill the tax obligations properly, [you] will be punished as stated in the laws and regulations on tax in force,” the GDT said in an announcement.
The announcement, however, added that Minister of Economy and Finance, Aun Pornmoniroth, has said non-gambling businesses who come forward to pay outstanding taxes before the end of March will not face any punishment and additional taxation.
The announcement added that failing to come forward before this date will result in punishment, as stated in the law on taxation.
