ACLEDA Bank has joined with the Ministry of Civil Service and other relevant bank partners to launch new ID cards for civil servants that double up as an ATM card and digital payment tool.

The ID cards are developed and printed in the form of Smart Cards that are embedded with Cambodia Shared Switch (CSS), enabling them to function like ATM cards that can also be used for other digital payment transactions.

The new ID cards are the product of the joint collaboration between the Ministry of Civil Service and ACLEDA Bank – Cambodia’s first commercial bank listed on the country’s stock exchange CSX, - Canadia Bank and Wing Bank.

So Phonnary, ACLEDA’s Senior EVP AND Group Chief Operations Officer, said in a press release that the Bank was commissioned by the government to print new ID cards for civil servants in the form of Smart Cards that enable government employees to use them for financial payment transactions, securely and conveniently any time.

The new ID cards will be issued for free to all government civil servants countrywide.

“The new ID cards are equipped with CSS that can be used as ATM cards for digital and online payments with all business partners that use the payment system with ACLEDA Bank,” Phonnary said.

“ACLEDA prides itself to be a partner of the government to provide banking and financial services to the country’s civil servants,” she added.
